LOUISVILLE, KY: Following an automobile accident on Thursday afternoon in Louisville’s California area, a man has died.
The Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) responded to a call for service just before 1:00 p.m. regarding a report of a car crash on Dr. W. J. Hodge Street close to Howard Street.
When police arrived, they reported discovering a lone vehicle collision. The male was driving a passenger car on Dr. W. J. Hodge Street heading north when, for an unidentified cause, he lost control and struck a tree close to the intersection of Howard Street, according to the LMPD’s preliminary investigation. He was the only one in the car, according to the police.
The victim was taken by EMS to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he passed away soon after due to his injuries.
This collision involved no other vehicles.
The inquiry is being handled by the Traffic Unit of the LMPD and is still ongoing.
