Just a few days after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals, AJ McCarron inked a new deal. The UFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks announced on Friday that McCarron will be joining them
When the Battlehawks were in the XFL the previous season, McCarron also played for them. In nine games, he completed passes for 2,150 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
After being selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft, AJ McCarron is still active in the game at the age of 33. Prior to joining with the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2018 campaign, he played for four seasons in Cincinnati.
Following his trade to the Raiders, the former Alabama standout played the majority of the 2018 campaign in Oakland.
Prior to spending a year on the Falcons’ roster, McCarron was a player for the Texans in 2019 and 2020. After playing for Atlanta in 2021, it seemed as though his professional football career was gone, but it turned out that he had plenty of football left in him.
Prior to accepting a contract with the Bengals for the second time this past fall, he was a player for the Battlehawks in the spring of 2023.
In the Bengals’ season-ending 31-14 victory over division foe Cleveland, McCarron completed three of four passes after throwing one pass in the team’s 34-14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
