The nib Newcastle Knights are proud to name the South Lakes Roosters as our July Club of the Month, celebrating their inspiring commitment to inclusion, leadership, and the growth of female participation in rugby league.

Known for their iconic pink kits and passionate community spirit, the Roosters are leading the way in creating a welcoming, family-focused environment for players of all ages.

From the U6 “Chickadees” all the way through to U18 girls’ teams, South Lakes is fostering pride and confidence in every young female player who pulls on the jersey.

At the heart of their success is access to opportunity.

The Club runs free, high-quality training clinics delivered by elite-level players, helping break down barriers to top-tier coaching and development. Importantly, they adapt their programs to meet diverse needs – ensuring every child, regardless of background or ability, feels included, supported, and valued.

This culture of care and connection is felt across the club – on the field, in the sheds, and throughout the broader South Lakes community.

Congratulations to the South Lakes Roosters on being named our July Club of the Month. You’re not just building great footy players – you’re building a stronger, more inclusive hi game for all.
