Following reports that board member John Zabel proposed a covert, members-only organisation known as the “Arcade Founders Club” without formal sanction or paperwork, the American Classic Arcade Museum (ACAM) is currently in damage control mode.
Allegedly, Zabel distributed pamphlets promising lifetime tokens, “VIP machine previews,” and exclusive arcade access. However, ACAM insiders promptly cancelled the proposal, describing it as “unauthorised and imaginary.”
One board member said that “not a single pixel of it was real.” He even made a rooftop lounge guarantee. No rooftop is available to us.
In a succinct statement, ACAM President Gary Vincent said, “There isn’t or will be a club like that.”
Zabel has stopped talking, and online arcade lovers are making fun of the incident by using the hashtag #ClubZabel.
