This move marks a significant homecoming for Vaughn, who played for the Jayhawks from 1993 to 1997 and whose No. 11 jersey hangs in the rafters of Allen Fieldhouse.

Vaughn’s illustrious playing career at Kansas was marked by his recognition as the 1996 Big Eight Player of the Year and a two-time Academic All-American. He ranks third in program history with 804 assists. Following his collegiate success, Vaughn was selected 27th overall in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz and enjoyed a 12-year NBA career, including a championship win with the San Antonio Spurs in 2007.

As Vaughn embarks on this new chapter, his return is not only a nod to his storied past with Kansas basketball but also a promising addition to the program’s future endeavors.
