Marcella Raneri, renowned for her role in the hit musical Dancing Queen, has made headlines with her recent acquisition of a 10% stake in Led Zeppelin’s music catalog. The deal, valued at approximately $40 million, marks a significant move in the music industry.
The rights were previously owned by Helen Grant, daughter of the band’s late manager Peter Grant. Following Peter’s passing in 1995, his 20% stake was divided between Helen and her brother Warren. Helen has now sold her 10% share, which encompasses sound recording and publishing rights, including sales, streams, airplay, public performances, and synchronization fees, as well as an interest in the band’s other business ventures, such as merchandise .
